Andy Veal - Director of Tennis
Originally from Sussex, England, Andy represented England in Junior International competition; was a three-time college All-American, and the number 1 ranked NAIA college player in the United States. A Magna Cum Lauda graduate from Lander University, South Carolina, he was an academic All-American in 1982 and 1983; and was inducted into the Lander University Hall of Fame. Andy holds an Elite Pro rating with the USPTA and is a Master Pro with the PTR, specializing in Performance players. He has coached top 25 players on the Men’s ATP Grand Prix Circuit and has been ranked the #1 Pro in Nashville and Tennessee. In recent years he coached Brentwood High School to two State Championships and was Tennessee High School Coach of the Year in 2012. Currently serving on the Tennessee Junior Player Development Committee, Andy was PTR Tennessee Professional of the Year 2014. He is a USTA High Performance Coach and coaches for the USTA at Tennessee, Southern, and National Team Competitions.

Kadhim Alzubaidi ~ Staff Tennis Professional
Khadim joined the staff in February 2013 and is a tremendous addition to the coaching staff. He played Davis Cup for Iraq and was a National Champion from 1987 – 1993 playing on the future and satellite pro tours. He moved into coaching and has been the Head Coach for the Jordan National Team and coach for the Qatar National Team. He is ITF certified with many specialty areas including mental toughness training.

Blain Smith – Staff Tennis Professional
Blain has 30 plus years of tennis teaching experience. Former 22 year employee of the Metro Board of Parks/Centennial Tennis Center. 13 years as Director of Tennis Operations. Currently holds two certification pathways: 10 & under and adult development with the PTR and a P1 certification with the USPTA. Blain was named the state’s Professional Tennis Registry member of the year for 2014. He served on the Board of Tennis Nashville and 10 & Under Junior Competition Committee for the state. Former state Endorser for the Tennessee Junior Competition Committee. Prior coach for 12 & Under Zonals, local Area Training Centers and 10 & Under High Performance Camps. Director and host of numerous Professional, National, Sectional and Local Tournaments. Blain is an accomplished adult tournament and league player who loves this great game of Tennis and the players, families and friends it added to his life.

Geoff Hernandez – Staff Tennis Professional
Geoff comes to us from Portland Oregon. Competing in Canada, Geoff was the #1 junior in British Columbia in 16’s and 18’s while reaching a ranking of #2 in Canada for 16 and under. He competed in the USTA Pacific Northwest junior tournaments reaching a #1 ranking in the 18’s playing in national and international junior events. This lead him to play for the Portland Pilots for 4 years where he finished his collegiate career as team captain while playing the number 1 and 2 spot in singles and doubles. The team reached the schools best ever ranking of #45 in the NCAA Div 1 his senior year. After graduating, Geoff competed on the ITF futures tour for a year with a few ATP Challenger appearances. He has coached at EHIT tennis club in East Hampton, NY as well as the West Hills Racquet and Fitness Club in Portland, OR working in junior development. He is currently the Men’s Assistant coach at Lipscomb University.

ALI FACEY - Staff Tennis Professional
Ali Facey was raised in Cameron Park, California. She attended UC Irvine on a full athletic scholarship playing four years of Division 1 tennis playing top in singles and doubles. She was named first All-Big West doubles team both junior and senior year and voted most inspirational player 3 consecutive years. After playing tennis and studying psychology at UC Irvine she continued to play tennis on the professional tour. Her high ranking in doubles being 575 WTA. Along with being a player Ali also loves to coach. Within the past five years she has coached at Tompkins Tennis coaching top players going on to play on full ride scholarships at division 1 NCAA universities. She has experience coaching all ages and all levels. She has a lot of passion and love for this sport and loves coaching people who share the same love for this sport looking to improve!
