Club Etiquette & Policies

We are very proud of our facilities.  Keeping our club clean, attractive and in good repair is the responsibility of all members, not just staff.  To that end, The Board of Directors appreciates your careful reading of the rules of conduct and etiquette below and subsequently teaching them to your family members and guests.

NON-MEMBER GUEST POLICY

  • Members may bring a guest to use the pool and tennis facilities and pay a guest fee of $8 per day.

  • Members with an individual tennis membership may use the pool and may bring guests, however they may not bring family members as guests.

  • Members are allowed to bring the same (local) guest no more than two (2) times per month at $8 each visit, unless they are participating in an activity such as the Junior Tennis Camp or a lesson program where additional fees are being paid to participate.

  • Members may bring “out-of-town” to use the facilities for up to ten (10) days. Guest fees for out-of-town guests are capped at $40 per family.

BRENTWOOD SWIM & TENNIS PROPERTY

  • Dress Code comments: This is a family-oriented pool, first and foremost.   While we want everyone to feel accepted and relaxed here, swimsuits should not be too revealing and should be common sense appropriate for a family environment.  The staff and Board of Directors reserve the right to enforce compliance.  Hopefully, this action will not be required.

  • Language should be civil, polite and age appropriate.  No profanity.

  • Willful destruction of Club property could result in prosecution and loss of membership rights. If accidental or thoughtless, will require restitution.

  • Parking is on the honor system as well.  Do not block either the east entrance to the soccer field or west entrance to lawn in front of courts 5-10 in case overflow parking on grass is needed.

  • Members sponsoring guests at the pool must sign them in at the pool reception desk for a $8 fee. This is an inexpensive amount and is according to the honor system.  All members should take this responsibility seriously and the time to tell guest our rules.

  • If you or your children see or hear of any rule being broken, please tell details to the Pool Manager on duty.

THE POOL & CLUBHOUSE

  • Children under the age of 10 years old must be checked in and accompanied by an adult parent or caregiver (defined in next statement)

  • For caregivers, i.e., sitter, nanny, au pair, older sibling, family member (age 16 years or older) or grandparent who has been assigned responsibility for children family members and their guests, it is the responsibility of the head of household to have the caregiver read, understand and commit to follow our Policies and Club Etiquette

  • Parents or guardians are expected to attend to non-swimming children at all times

  • And adult or caregiver is responsible for supervising any child(ren) who are unable to swim on their own and must be within arm’s length from the child/children while they are in the pool, even if the child(ren) are wearing water wings, inflatable devices, or any other floatation devices. Child floaties and lifeguards are not your first line of safety, you are.

  • Children must be able to swim length of pool unassisted to be able to swim without appropriate floatation device (floaties) or adult supervision

  • All swimmers (adults, youth and children) are expected to follow instructions from your lifeguards. That is why we pay them

  • No food inside pool fence

  • No glass anywhere

  • No running.

  • No diving except in deep diving well

  • No holding breath in water

  • No hanging on lane lines or buoyed lines

  • No double bouncing

  • One person on board at a time

  • Wait to dive until water below and in front of diving board is clear

  • The lifeguards on stands are busy and not to be engaged in conversation

  • No multi person floats

  • Throwing any ball must be done to insure no one is inadvertently hit.

  • Properly fitting swim diapers are required for ALL children who are not potty-trained.

  • Only Patio wrought iron and metal tables & chairs and lounge furniture can be reserved for continuous use. TV Lounge and Private Dining Room furniture is forfeited for others to use once you have left the area.

  • General Rule: “If You Mess It Up, Clean It Up.”

  • Pick up trash on tables when you get up

  • If you are coming back to a table, put towels, bags and clothes neatly in chairs pushed back up to table. The table needs to look presentable. If you intend to leave, please take all your belongings and push chairs back up to table.

  • TV is for adults only. We subscribe to Comcast Basic and Sports packages.  Ask Pool manager or lifeguard for remote.

EVENT SPACE RENTAL

  • We offer a variety of event space rental options in the clubhouse, pool areas and club property during-season and off-season.

  • Pricing is based on 2hr increments and additional fees may apply where event managers or addiontal lifeguards are required.

  • Rental options and pricing are found HERE.

THE COURTS

  • Tennis courts are for tennis only. Children games can be detrimental to the court surfaces.  All other uses must be permitted by Andy Veal. We have a very accessible and nicely kept field for all other games.

  • Eating on tennis courts is not allowed.

  • Tennis balls are for the tennis court. Please return any balls found outside courts to nearest court.

  • Do not take balls from the tennis ball carts provided for tennis players unless they are to be used for tennis.

  • When matches are being played on courts 1-4, Wall Ball is not allowed due to noise and errant ball distraction to tennis players.

  • We have a court reservation system in place so please book your court online before you come to play. If there are open courts and you have no reservation you are welcome to play but please be respectful of existing reservations. If you have a court booked but need to cancel, please do so on the App so other members can use your court.

  • Courts are to be used by members of the club and their accompanied guests only. If you bring a guest, there is a $8 guest fee – please register them in the guest book in the Pro Shop. We will bill your account for the guest fee.

  • Tennis can be frustrating, but profanity or ball / racket abuse will not be tolerated at the club. Please conduct yourself in a respectful way while on the courts.

  • Please wear appropriate tennis clothing while on the courts and non-marking shoes.

  • When entering your court please use the closest gate and not walk across the back of another member’s court to get to yours, especially if they are playing a match.

  • Please respect other members playing next to you. We have many league matches and events going on year-round and you should not be a distraction to the courts next to you. If you are using a hopper of balls, please make sure they are staying on your court and not disturbing players around you.

  • If your time is up and there is someone with a reservation waiting, please do not make them wait for you to finish. Find an open court if there is one to finish.

  • If you would like to borrow a hopper of balls, please check with a Pro and make sure you return it after you finish. If you use the ball machine, please make sure you return it and plug it back in for the next person.

  • Please do not get into lengthy conversation with the Pros while they are teaching – call them after the lesson is finished.

  • Please pick up any trash you have brought to the courts and leave the court as it was when you arrived.
